Couples Therapy in Oregon & Hawaii

Healthy relationships take intention, care, and support—especially during moments of change, stress, or disconnection.

At Inward Motion Counseling Group, our couples therapy services are designed to help partners slow down, feel heard, and reconnect in ways that are sustainable and meaningful. We work with couples at many stages of their relationship—from those feeling stuck or distant to those seeking deeper understanding and growth together.

Our Therapeutic Approach

The couples therapists at Inward Motion Counseling Group are trained in relational, trauma-informed, and systemic modalities.

We support couples who are navigating:

  • Communication challenges and recurring conflict

  • Emotional disconnection or resentment

  • Life transitions (parenthood, blended families, relocation, career shifts)

  • Trust repair and rebuilding intimacy

  • Stress, burnout, and shifting roles within the relationship

The man is smiling, wearing a floral short-sleeve shirt, black pants, black and white sneakers, and a watch on his left wrist.

Therapy is collaborative and nonjudgmental, grounded in the belief that relationships can heal when both individuals feel safe, accountable, and understood.

90-Minute Couples Therapy Sessions (Intentionally Designed)

Couples therapy requires time—time to speak, to listen, and to be understood.

That’s why we offer 90-minute couples counseling sessions, rather than standard shorter appointments. This extended format allows for:

  • Equal space for each partner to share their perspective

  • Thoughtful pacing that reduces defensiveness and overwhelm

  • Deeper exploration of emotional patterns and relational dynamics

  • Meaningful progress without feeling rushed or cut off

Our clinicians prioritize emotional safety, balance, and fairness—so both partners leave sessions feeling acknowledged and supported.

Is Couples Therapy Right for You?

Couples therapy at Inward Motion Counseling Group may be a good fit if:

  • You feel stuck in repetitive arguments or emotional distance

  • Communication feels tense, confusing, or unproductive

  • You want support navigating a major life transition together

  • One or both partners feel unheard or misunderstood

  • You’re seeking deeper connection, not just problem-solving

You don’t need to be in crisis to begin couples counseling. Many couples come to therapy to strengthen their relationship proactively and build healthier relational patterns.
